Not a roommate situation. Private room with keyed entrance in Emeryville, $995/month, including utilities. Here you have your own private unit. You have a key to the building front door, entering into the common hallway, and a key to your own private room off that hallway. Your relationship to your neighbors is similar to that you would have in an apartment building, that is to say, as friendly or as formal as you care to make it, but you are sharing bathrooms on the hallway with your neighbors.

This is a very nice third floor room. It has high ceilings, plenty of natural light and air. The room is clean and in good condition. From this third floor room you can see a little bit of the East Bay skyline low over the roof tops. We can provide basic furniture (bed, chair, desk) for no additional charge, if you want it. Bathrooms are shared. We do not have a kitchen, but we supply a refrigerator and microwave in your room. High speed internet is available from the usual providers. When comparing prices to other rooms, please note that here owner pays utilities, a savings to you of $100 - $200 per month.

The location is excellent. Easy access to San Francisco, the University of California at Berkeley, downtown Berkeley, West Berkeley, downtown Oakland, and other East Bay points via public transportation. Parking is usually not difficult. The local bus stop is one block away. McArthur BART is about eight blocks away and can be accessed via a free shuttle bus. We are a short walk to Safeway, 7-Eleven, Bank of America, Target, Arismendi Bakery, Subway, Little Caesar’s, Wing Stop, Panda Express, Starbucks, and many restaurants including Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, etc.

The neighborhood would be considered urban up and coming. Our tenants are generally very nice people who get along well. Several tenants have been here for more than ten years.

We prefer a 12 month lease, however we are happy to accommodate short-term tenants for an additional charge. We are looking for good tenants who pay their rent on time, keep their room clean, are businesslike in their dealings with the manager, and courteous to their fellow tenants. This building is quiet, and we want tenants who like to keep it that way. Prospective tenants must fill out an application. We do a credit check and a criminal check.
